IS BLUE LIGHT BAD FOR YOUR EYES?
Blue light waves are Ultraviolet rays (UV). They have higher energy (HEV) which makes them capable of producing changes in the skin and other tissues. Like all UV light, blue light has both benefits and dangers.
Blue light is everywhere. In its natural form, it
eye and reaches the retina. Many researchers and eye care providers are concerned that long term exposure to HEV blue light from these man-made sources might increase the risk of AMD later in life. AMD stands for age-related macular degeneration, a disease that breaks down the macula -- the light-sensitive portion of the retina that allows you to see fine detail. It blurs the

required for activities such as reading or driving.
Blue light contributes to digital eye strain. Computer glasses with proper yellow tint as well as blue-blocking non- glare coatings may increase comfort when viewing digital devices. These lenses may also help improve your sleep
patterns especially if you spend time looking at a device in the hours before you go to sleep.
